Ph.D. Research

"Come with us on now on a journey through time and space"
Wil Vincent Portfolio / Ph.D. Research

I am an Assistant Lecturer, Programme Leader and Ph.D researcher at Birmingham City University. I have been involved with the university since 2009 studying both an Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree in the field of Planning, and working as a Student Success Advisor between 2014 and 2017.

I draw heavily upon my time in industry as a Planning Consultant in teaching, which focuses on Planning and Development based modules. I have been involved in supporting the University’s ‘Transforming the curriculum’ programme, and aim to combine practice and theory, with the use of real life scenarios to create innovative, diverse, and most importantly interesting scenarios for students to explore.

I also have a track record in supporting Student Learning Experience. Whilst completing my Masters Degree I co-authored a HEA paper entitled ‘Student Academic Partners in Built Environment Education’. I have since presented work on a number of student engagement initiatives such as ‘Level Up’ on a national and international scale. I currently support students who struggle academically through a range of support and development programmes.
